What is SABSA World?
SABSA World and the SABSA Community have helped coordinate meetings in 20 cities, across 11 different countries! In this 4th year, we are excited to build on the existing networks and relationships and continue encouraging growth in the SABSA community. We hope you will participate in your community and help make this a success! This year we are opening up to allow local practitioners to schedule meetings at their convenience and have them added to the SABSA World website so that other local practitioners can be aware.
24 Hours of SABSA is an initiative of the SABSA Institute that is meant to build local communities of SABSA practitioners, while at the same time reinforcing our global connection. This initiative is volunteer led, and relies on members of the community to step up and participate in a local meeting, or if none exists, to help coordinate one. Events can be formal or informal depending on local interest, although they should promote the cosac spirit. Some groups may just meet for an informal happy hour, while others wish to coordinate discussion topics or presentations. This meeting we will have a shared topic which all discuss and give feedback the institute.
What will you get out of it?
- Networking Opportunities
- Access to local SABSA subject matter experts
- Participate in building a knowledgebase for the SABSA community
- Find Friends you have not met yet
Purpose
The 24 hours of workshops will be loosely coordinated by the SABSA Institute, but each workshop will be run and coordinated by local SABSA practitioners for purpose to:
- Facilitate networking with local SABSA Practitioners and grow local chapters.
- Learn and share practical information about applying SABSA.
- Provide an outlet for senior and junior certified SABSA members to test and grow ideas.
- Identify regional specific ideas or issues to present at COSAC/SABSA World Congress in Ireland.
Format
The workshops will have a format that will encourage group discussion, facilitate debate, and foster new ideas. They can range from a group of people in a local conference room, to a small gathering in a local pub, the goal is just to have something. Since the discussion will be led and driven by the attendees, any topics are fair game, but some examples include; getting executive buy-in for architecture projects, demonstrating how to use the SABSA models in complex environments, sharing ideas for adapting the models into operational practices, and exploring what tools are proving the most effective for integrating SABSA. Each region will be hosted by a local SABSA practitioner who will do their best to provide a workshop in the spirit of COSAC that will benefit all who attend.
